Jim Parkinson
Chief Technology & Information Officer
Jim Parkinson is the Chief Technology & Information Officer of North. He is responsible for overseeing Product Development, Data Sciences, IT Engineering, and IT Infrastructure, as well as our Payanywhere hardware-software solution.
Jim has extensive experience with digital projects and strategies and in leading IT teams. In his most recent position at Valassis, Parkinson was the Chief Technical Officer, Chief Digital Officer, and Executive Vice President of Digital Advertising. He was responsible for the oversight of the company's technology directions and development, as well as the implementation of the digital media strategy. Before joining Valassis, Parkinson spent more than two decades at Sun Microsystems in a variety of positions, including leading the Software Development Products Division and serving as Senior Vice President of Cloud Computing Engineering. While there, he was part of the team that built the world's first utility computing platform that led to the introduction of cloud technology.
Parkinson graduated with honors from Walden University with a Bachelor of Science in Information Systems.
