The future of journalism

As outlined in four blog posts
This is fabulous. When old-school journalists with blogs feel the need to school younger bloggers. They really ought to catch up with the world outside their fiefdoms.
Our thread begins with Ezra Klein writing a post on his Washington Post Wonkblog, titled Revenge of the sources. Then Charles Pierce, on his blog over at Esquire, wrote that Ezra Klein gets it very wrong. In turn, this gave NY Times blogger Joe Nocera a chance to champion Pierce’s snark with his own snarky post – Charlie Pierce gives a journalism lesson to Ezra Klein.
Finally, noted blogger Dave Winer then writes a very clear-headed post about why Pierce (and by association, Nocera,) gets it all wrong.
Fun times.

I love this (no snark intended) because it’s more than just a reading list. I think blog posts that are more participation-required might be the best kind. There’s regurgitation, there’s curation, and then there’s participation, which should (at least to me) be more of “a thing”.
